There were fish everywhere early last week with most boats catching multiple fish. By the time the weekend rolled around, the fish seemed to have vanished and it was a tough weekend of fishing. There were a number of boats and anglers that covered a lot of water and didn't even see a cobia, including myself. These tough conditions didn't stop 9 year old Joseph Farrell from catching his first cobia and winning week 4 of Ling Ding with this 32.05 lb winner caught on Saturday.
There wass also a huge Spanish mackeral caught aboard the Triton and Captian Stan Norris. This fish is almost twice as big as the previous biggest Spanish and they are in the lead at 7.06 lbs. They had another 6 lb fish that day as well.
The overall leader of biggest cobia is still captain Jeff Mormon aboard the First Light with this 66.46 lb fish caught in week 2.
There are 2 more days of fishing left. The seas are looking a little on the rough side this weekend and please be safe on the water.
I hope to see you Saturday at the finale and good luck to everyone.
Take care,
Zach Childs
