Meet Our Team
W. Grant Terry
Hello! Thanks for stopping by to learn a little bit about me. I was born and raised in a small community called Heath, just outside of Andalusia, AL. Fortunately, we were very close to the beaches in Destin and Fort Walton. We could be there in a little over an hour. It seems like I had my toes in the sand every weekend as a child! Needless to say, that began my addiction to the beach. I would go as often as I could, especially when I started driving. The addiction grew even greater once I started learning how to saltwater fish. And then one day, the beach was not so close…..I had graduated from Straughn High School in 1997 and it was time to move off to college. I vowed to one day be back close to the saltwater! I graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2001 with a B.A. in Management and moved to Birmingham, AL where I began a banking career. After a few years I transitioned into the insurance field and began a career in that field. I was fortunate enough to get several promotions that allowed me to live in several different locations in the Southeastern US but none close to the beach where I wanted to be. Then it happened!! I was promoted and moved to Panama City, FL! My dream had come true!..... Well, that feeling lasted a few months. I could not believe how the beach had changed…..sky rise condo’s everywhere….crazy spring breakers….not really a family atmosphere. In an effort for some relief, I set out eastward on Hwy 98 to see what was out there….that’s when I found Mexico Beach and the Forgotten Coast. I said to myself, “This is truly Mayberry on the water!” The small town family atmosphere was so charming. Everybody knew everybody & everybody was extremely welcoming. Best of all, the beaches were gorgeous! That’s when I knew I had found a place to “hang my hat” for a long, long time. It didn’t happen overnight but my lovely bride, Holly, and I moved to Mexico Beach in 2008. We could not imagine being anywhere else!
Shortly after moving here, an “old salt” from Apalachicola shared some words of wisdom with me about our area…he said “At first, that sand just gets in between your toes. But, eventually it seeps into your skin and gets in your blood. They next thing you know, that sand has moved to your heart……and you’ll never let it out.” That sums up my addiction to the beach that started as a child!! This is where I’m supposed to be and this is what I’m supposed to do. It’s so interesting how everything in life happens for a reason, even if you don’t see it at the moment. I can look back now and see I was being groomed for the job of a Realtor long ago. My background in finance and insurance has been paramount in my career as a Realtor. I feel it has helped me develop a skill set that is second to none. I would appreciate the opportunity to show you just how I can help find your dream home or maximize your profits on the sale of property you own. I pledge to provide you with prompt customer service in every step of the process. With that said, talk is cheap…..actions always speak louder than words. Give me a chance to be your Realtor and you won’t regret it. I look forward to working with you!!
